Welcome to the Old House Restaurant

The Old House Restaurant is set within a 16th Century cottage on the edge of the village of
Copthorne, in West Sussex and just a few minutes drive from Gatwick Airport. It is famous
for its tranquil surroundings, despite being set so close to one of Europe’s biggest gateways.

A true sense of tradition starts from the moment you enter this historic building, with its
fantastic timbers, lattice windows and innovative use of restaurant space clearly evident.
The process behind the creation of the menu at The Old House is something to behold –
a result of the hard work put in by passionate owners Colin and Ginny Dormon and their
talented Head Chef, Alan Pierce.  The food is best described as drawing influence from
traditional French and English cuisine, but this serves to inspire rather than offer strict
guidelines. Alan is a well-known innovator and his slight additions and twists to
famous dishes are well-known.
